How To Easily Deep Clean Your Toilet?

Posted by Layla Byrd on

Everyone hates cleaning their toilets which is why I must ask you – when was the last time you cleaned yours? You probably don’t even remember! Well, since toilets can get pretty dirty and they are covered in bacteria, you need to take care of yours and deep clean it.

Since cleaning doesn’t really get rid of the bacteria – and if you haven’t cleaned your toilet in a long time, you need to make sure you disinfect it as well, I am going to share with you one “cleaning hack” that I use which both cleans and disinfects. It’s super easy and you only need one ingredient – bleach! Yes, bleach is an amazing disinfectant and it will also clean your toilet.

I don’t really enjoy using bleach because it’s extremely harsh and it also releases toxic fumes, however, it’s the best thing to use for cleaning and disinfecting a toilet. I would suggest you use a protective mask and gloves. Also, if you have a window in your bathroom – open it since you want to be in a well-ventilented area whenever you use bleach!

How To Deep Clean Your Toilet With Bleach?

Get your bleach and pour it into your toilet. Make sure you cover the walls and the rim as well. Next, grab your toilet brush and start scrubbing the toilet. Once you do that, I recommend getting some paper towels and wiping the rim.

Also, cover the outside of your toilet with paper towels. Once you are done, throw the paper towels in the toilet and flush. If you can, get your showerhead and rinse the outside of your toilet as well so that you remove all bleach residue.

And just like that, with one product, your toilet is now free of any germs and impurities.

Clean Your Kitchen Appliances In Under Two Hours Following These Tips From Experts!

Posted by Layla Byrd on

Your kitchen is filled with appliances – and they need to be cleaned and disinfected from time to time. Taking care of them will ensure better performance and a long lifespan.

But cleaning your fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher can get pretty overwhelming and time-consuming. I know that you do not want to spend your entire weekend locked in your kitchen cleaning appliances – no one wants that! This is why I partnered up with https://cleaners.ltd.uk/ and asked them whether they have some tips and tricks when it comes to cleaning kitchen appliances. To my surprise, they told me that these chores aren’t that hard and don’t necessarily need to waste all of your free time – in fact, you can clean every appliance in your kitchen in under two hours.

Is It Really Possible?

If I have to be honest, I didn’t exactly believe them which is why I tested their tips before I wrote this article. The results? Yes, the cleaning team was right, it is absolutely possible to clean your appliances in two hours which is life-changing!

Here Is How To Do It!

Start off with gathering all cleaning supplies you will need:

  • Liquid dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • A scrub brush (or a toothbrush)
  • An all-purpose cleaner
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Rags
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Next, fill your sink with hot water and add liquid dish soap. The hot soapy water will come in handy!

– How To Clean Your Oven?

Spray an all-purpose cleaner in the interior of your oven then shut the door. If your oven is extremely dirty then I suggest using a degreaser instead of the all-purpose cleaner because it will be a lot more effective.

While you wait, spray your stovetop with baking soda then pour a bit of hydrogen peroxide. Place a rag or a towel over the stove and let it sit for an hour.

Then go back to your oven and wipe the interior with a cloth so you remove all the impurities.

After one hour, go back to your stove and wipe it with a clean towel. All burnt food, grease, and other gunk will easily come off!

– How To Clean Your Microwave?

This is extremely easy – fill a bowl with equal parts of water and vinegar then place it in your microwave. Turn the appliance for 3 minutes then let the bowl sit in there for another 5 minutes before you open the door. The created steam will loosen up all the impurities so they can easily be removed. Next, grab a cloth and wipe the interior!

– How To Clean Your Dishwasher?

Fill a cup with vinegar then place it on the top rack. Run a full hot cycle without placing anything else inside of your appliance. Just like that, your dishwasher will be clean and disinfected!

– How To Clean Your Fridge?

Unplug your fridge and let it defrost for a while. While you wait, take out all the food and throw everything that has expired. Next, place all drawers and shelves in the hot soapy water sitting in your sink. Wash them with a sponge.

Then mix a teaspoon of dish soap, a teaspoon of baking soda, and 4 cups of water. Wipe the interior and exterior of your fridge with the mixture (either use a microfiber cloth or a rag). Repeat this step until you are happy with the results.

This Is The Easiest Way To Clean Your Bathtub!

Posted by Layla Byrd on

Cleaning your bathroom is definitely not fun especially when you have to scrub the bathtub. I know I used to hate this cleaning chore and I would avoid it at all cost which leads to my tub being dirtier… and me having to scrub it for hours.

Thankfully, I have found a way to easily clean it without wasting too much time, however, keep in mind that nothing will replace the regular cleaning. If you want cleaning to be easier, regardless if we are talking about the bathroom or any other room in your home, you shouldn’t skip on your chores for a long time.

How I Easily Clean My Bathtub?

Now it’s time to show you how I clean my bathtub. You might be surprised but I actually use only two ingredients – natural ones! I don’t use any harsh products containing a lot of chemicals, I simply use vinegar and liquid soap.

I start off by pouring some vinegar into a spray bottle following by liquid soap. Then I shake the bottle so the ingredients can mix and my cleaner is ready.

Both of these ingredients work very well at removing soap scum, stains, and impurities and can even be used to clean your toilet!

If I have to be honest, I use it to clean my whole bathroom – not just the bathtub. I spray my shower, tiles, the toilet, and my tub with it and let it sit for 30 minutes. If you are dealing with some pretty stubborn stains you might even want to leave it on for a few hours so the cleaner can loosen them.

Then I simply rinse everything with the showerhead and that is it – my whole bathroom is spotless without me having to do any scrubbing!

5 Common Cleaning Myths You Shouldn’t Believe

Posted by Layla Byrd on

There are so many different cleaning hacks, tips, and tricks out there and, unfortunately, some of the most common ones are completely false. This is why I wanted to focus on some myths I know of and tell you exactly why they do not work!

Bleach Is An Amazing Cleaner

In general, bleach being a cleaner is totally false. What bleach does is kill bacteria but it does not clean – it disinfects.

Both of these things are completely different – cleaning is removing the impurities off of a surface while disinfecting is getting rid of the germs on that surface.

You Need To Use A Special Cleaner For Grout

This is also false – you do not need to use any fancy cleaner that is packed with harsh chemicals. Instead, you can use a simple mixture of white vinegar and water. It’s much more effective and way less harmful.

In case the grout is extremely dirty then you can use a mixture of baking soda and water. The paste will act as a scrub which is an ideal alternative to commercial cleaners.

Use Newspapers When Cleaning Your Windows

In the past this hack has worked great, however, the paper people use to make newspapers nowadays is different and will leave ink stains behind.

This is why you need to leave this hack in the past and move on to using a squeegee.

Natural Cleaners Don’t Work

Another common myth people still believe today is that using natural ingredients like vinegar and baking soda isn’t as effective at cleaning as a commercial product. I must admit – I DIY most of the cleaners I use to clean my home and in some cases, they work even better than the ones you can buy from the store.

Not only this but they are cheaper and do not contain any harsh chemicals – very beneficial for people with allergies!

You Don’t Need To Clean Your Dishwasher

Another myth that a lot of people believe, however, all of your appliances need to be cleaned – and your dishwasher isn’t an exception.

In order to have a spotless dishwasher that works properly and has a long lifespan you need to take care of it – regularly clean the filter, removing all food after each cycle, etc.

Also, I recommend you to place a cup of vinegar on the bottom rack of your dishwasher and run an empty cycle once a month. This is a great way to maintain your appliance free of any germs and impurities!

How to arrange your bedroom to look good and be easy to clean

Posted by Layla Byrd on

The fact that our day starts and ends in our bedroom is enough to make you want to keep it clean and organized at all times. You want your sleeping space to look good at all times? When you have guests over you don’t want to warn them that it’s a mess before they walk it. Or even worse, you don’t want to keep them waiting so you can clean your mess as fast as you can. And by ‘’clean your mess’’ I mean throw everything in your shelves, nightstand or wardrobe.

There are little things you can do to make cleaning it easier and always be ready for guests.

  • Always make your bed. It’s very simple. You wake up and get up to start your day. Spend a minute to fix your pillows and fold your blanket. You are now one step away from disorganization.
  • Get rid of unnecessary things. We are all guilty of this. Some things don’t belong in the bedroom though and some things are useless. Get rid of everything that just doesn’t fit in your room anymore. For example clothes are meant to stay in your closet not piled up on the chair next to your bed. Keep it as minimalist and clean as possible.
  • Everything that you don’t want to get rid of keep it in drawers. Books, lip balms, pencils, creams and things like that.
  • Buy a small bin. For all the small trash you just leave on your desk or nightstand like receipts, paper, wet wipes etc.
  • Add floating shelves. This is a great way to display what you want. Perfumes, gifted teddy bears, sunglasses, watches… Things like that.

Add a freshener spray. A big part of our perception of ‘’clean’’ comes from the smell. It’s proven that we see things that smell good as cleaner and more attractive (It’s the same with people).
